The Tabernacle

---Sharing our Lord and Saviour Yahushua, Yeshua the Messiah to the World!

Please Note: On this site we prefer to use the actual Name of our loving Heavenly Father as it was written in the Hebrew and thus you will note that we will use the four letter “Memorial Name” of   - YHVH, which is pronounced as YaHVaH or YaHWaH, also we will use our Heavenly Father’s title - Elohim rather than “God” and we need to remember that “Elohim” (God) is NOT a name but an attribute, a title! In addition we also love to use the actual Name of our beloved Messiah (written in Hebrew as “Mashiach” and in Greek as “Christos”), which is  - Yahushua (Yeshua in short) for this is the Messiah’s original Hebrew Name as given to Him in Luke 1:31. This was the only Name ever used when He was on the earth by His disciples and His followers for hundreds of years thereafter. However it was changed to a foreign name by the new church, which later became known as “the greater Roman catholic church.” Occasionally, we may also use other Hebrew or Greek names and words in our studies, but these will be translated when they are used, either the first time in a study or at various times as needed for clarity. For an explanation of YHVH’s most Holy and blessed “Memorial Name” and the wonderful Name of our Messiah: Please read The Memorial Name.

The three levels of learning & understanding of the blessed Word of YHVH Elohim (the Lord God):

When we read and study the blessed Scriptures, the Word of YHVH Elohim as a believer in Yahushua the Messiah, we should keep following three steps in always mind for they are a valuable guide and it will certainly provide us with guidance and illuminate the sheer beauty and the fullness of YHVH’s most blessed Word.

1. Who was YHVH Elohim, blessed be His Holy Name speaking to?

2. When was it said?

3. How was His Word understood at the time it was spoken/given?

I do believe that these three points are most relevant to our understanding of 1. What the Almighty is saying at the time - 2. As well as what it means to us today - and 3.  Indeed to you and me right now!

I pray that these studies on the Feasts of YHVH will be a blessing to you and that they will provide you with “a helmet, armour and the shield of YHVH Elohim (the LORD God)” and that we are made ready to share His Word with those who are need of Salvation and His love, which can only come through faith in our Heavenly Father and His Anointed one, Yahushua the Messiah, or as many throughout the world say it “Yeshua.”

Shalom - Peace be with you, in Yahushua THE Messiah!

“Scriptural Truths” & “Ha Davar Word Studies”

Davarim - Deuteronomy 22:1

The blessed scriptures show us that it is concerned about restoring lost objects to its owners. Therefore surely, we must be even more concerned about helping lost individuals to RETURN to YaHVaH Elohim (the LORD God), blessed be His Holy Name, and Yahushua THE Messiah, “the Passover sacrificed for us.”

It is written in the Tenach (the Old Testament), from which this entire study comes, although there are Brit Chadashah (New Testament) references.

“If you come across your enemy’s ox or donkey going astray (To’eh), bring it back to him” Shemos - Exodus 23:4.

Then in Davarim - Deuteronomy 22:1 is this verse,

“If you see your brother’s ox or sheep wandering far (Nidachim) from the path, you must not ignore them. You must RETURN them to your brother.”

Let me comment on these two verses as follows:

The verse in Davarim - Deuteronomy uses the expression “Nidachim” meaning wandering far, whilst the expression “To’eh” in Shemos - Exodus means, to have only wandered off the path, and thus, that animal can easily be returned without much inconvenience. The word “Nidachim” on the other hand is used to point out that the animal has fully wandered off the path and is therefore lost. It has wandered far from its origin and its owner.

The reason the example the word of sheep is used in the Word is that it will bring to mind the idea of “lost sheep.” With this in mind, let us reflect as follows. The Word of the Almighty shows that He cares about property and things. The Word even takes pity on an individual’s donkey or sheep that may have wandered from the path and require much effort to be placed back on the right course.

Beloved, how much more so should we care for a single lost soul who has wandered far from the path, even if it takes great effort to get them back on course? We are now already acquainted with the verse; “You MUST RETURN them to your brother.” And that was just for an animal, how much more so for a person!

May I comment of the fullness of this statement; “you MUST return them,” the implication in the Word is, even a hundred times if necessary. From this, we can learn a lesson for our case as well, namely that we must toil even one hundred times to bring a lost soul back to the Father. This includes our families! But sadly, the truth is, in our day and age, most confirmed sinners are not sinners to be spiteful, Elohim forbid. Rather, they have wandered from the path of influence of false teachers and sinners who led them astray. They are just like lost sheep that do not know how to return to their Master’s Home. Therefore, we have a great duty to take pity on them, to show and teach them the proper way. YaHVaH our Elohim, blessed be His Holy Name, says, “Show them the path they MUST take” (Shemos - Exodus 18:20). Only the WORD can bring others to love our Elohim and Messiah Yahushua! It says in the Word of Elohim,

“You shall love YHVH your Elohim with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength” Davarim - Deuteronomy 6:5.

Then verse 6 states,

“And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart.”

The following is my explanation of why these two verses are placed together.

It is known that some characteristics are intrinsic (inherent or built in) to an object and some are extrinsic (alien). Suppose an iron rod, or a saucepan sits on a high flame on a fire. When this happens, it takes in so much heat from the fire that anything touching it will be burnt. Nonetheless, the heat that passes through it has an external source, unlike the fire itself, which is intrinsically hot. The difference between the two is that the heat in the pot or piece of iron exists only in the object itself. When another pot or a piece of iron is put next to the first, the first one does not have enough energy to heat up the second. Moreover, the iron pot will only remain hot as long as it rests on the fire. Once it is removed from the fire, the heat will slowly leave it until it is totally cold. This is all because the heat in it has an outside source. As for the fire itself, it will remain hot even if it is left alone for several hours, unless of course, we put it out. Furthermore, fire has the power to heat up other things.

It is the same with the precious Word of Elohim, which is compared to FIRE. YaHVaH our Elohim, blessed be His Holy Name, said, “Is not my Word like fire?” (Yirmyahu - Jeremiah 23:29). Faithful believers should constantly study the Word and have all their thoughts focussed upon it, with the Word of Elohim set deep in their hearts. They therefore have the power to endear the Word, which is “Good News,” to others who are near them at any given time. The faithful in Yahushua have the FIRE, being the Spirit of Elohim in them, just as the “WORD is FIRE!”

Those who are not able to spend much time studying the Word should seek out faithful Scripture based teachers and learn from them. This in itself is good, fulfilling a positive command “Cleave to him” Davarim - Deuteronomy 10:20. Cleave first to Elohim, but also to those who the Spirit of Elohim has been given, such as the gift of teaching. We should feel uplifted whilst we are in fellowship, listening to the Word of Elohim. Upon leaving fellowship, the sacred feeling that was felt, thanks to being so close to the things and the blessed Word of Elohim, sometimes cools off in our lives. Moreover, when we are in the teacher’s presence, we only benefit from the direct contact with the Word of Elohim itself. Thus, it is vital that we all spend more time with and in the Word of Elohim ourselves! That is how we keep the fire burning within us at all times!

We can now go back to that question. Love YHVH your Elohim.” The Word uses the perfect Hebrew form of love, “VeAhavta” and this teaches us to endear Elohim to others! How are we supposed to achieve this desire of endearing Yahushua to others? The verse continues, “These words should be ... on your hearts” Davarim - Deuteronomy 6:6. This means that you yourself should know the Word, for it should be in your heart!

We know that the Word is compared with real fire. It should thus be in your power to arouse other people to desire that fire, the Word and He who is the Word, for we know what the scriptures tells us,

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with Elohim, and the Word was Elohim. He was with Elohim in the beginning.” Yochannan - John 1:1-2.

If you yourself do not spend much time in the Word and are devoid of its fullness, you will be unable to arouse the love of Yahushua the Messiah, who is “the Word”, in others. You might think that after commanding us to love Elohim and His Word, (Davarim - Deuteronomy 6:5); it would have been enough to immediately go on with the words … “Teach them to your sons and speak about them” verse 7. Why do we need the middle verse about keeping these words “on your heart?” The explanation is simple.

It is normal for people to keep their pots and pans in the kitchen pantry and to keep the decorative objects in the lounge and living areas. If a family member found the pots and pans in the living room, he would quickly remove them if guests approached the house. It would be silly to leave them in the lounge and it would be considered to be untidy and crazy by all.

It is considered that the heart is the king of all the organs of the body, containing as it does the essence of life. The Word says, “Guard your heart with the greatest vigilance, for life issues forth from it” (Mashley Shlomo - Proverbs 4:23). There we find the faculties of thought. The stomach by contrast, is merely the receptacle of food and drink. Therefore, also, it is known that the Word is the most important of Elohim’s gifts. “In the beginning was the Word,” and obviously it preceded the world. Everything to do with food was created later. For example, on the third day of Creation, Elohim said, “Let the earth bring forth grass” (Bereshis - Genesis 1:11). On the sixth day, He said, “Let the earth bring forth cattle and creeping things” verse 24. Therefore, it is certainly fitting that the Word of Elohim, given unto us all, the choicest of all creations should rest in man’s heart all the time. Other more mundane matters having to do with food should only occasionally enter his thoughts. When we take a good look at ourselves, it turns out that we do exactly the opposite. The main things we tend to think about are eating and drinking and our physical needs. Only occasionally (in comparison) do we think about YaHVaH’s Word and doing His will! Thus being a bit like the person that leaves the pots and pans in the living room whilst entertaining guests. This is why Elohim, blessed be He, reminds us, “These things ... should be upon your heart.” These things being specifically, sharing the Word, and doing good deeds for remember this truth … “Faith without works is dead.” It should be constantly at the forefront of our lives in Yahushua and not any other worldly concerns.

May we constantly learn from the Word of Elohim! This study commenced with,

“If you come across your enemy’s ox or donkey going astray, bring it back to him” (Shemos - Exodus 23:4). “If you see your brother’s ox or sheep wandering far from the path, you must not ignore them. You must RETURN them to your brother” (Davarim - Deuteronomy 22:1).

Beloved, let us spend a little more time with the Lord in Fasting, Prayer and giving greater effort studying His Word, and He will give you the means of guiding LOST SHEEP to a point where they may be restored to YHVH Elohim. Blessed be His Holy Name!

I pray that this study will inspire you to a closer relationship with our loving heavenly Father who has given us His Word, and sent “His only begotten Son,” Yahushua our Redeemer! Let us now in return give more of ourselves, thinking less of our own needs, but more of the needs of others, therefore spending less time on our physical needs pleasure/entertainments, etc) and more on spiritual matters. How often must it be said, “Time is urgent!” Do not waste it. Now is the time to, “Love YaHVaH with all your heart” and “teach them” the WORD, yes even unto a lost and confused world.

“Whoever listens to Me will dwell safely and will be secure, without fear of evil.” Mashley Shlomo - Proverbs 1:33.

As you go and share the love, mercy, and forgiveness that our beloved Messiah offers, may the Spirit of YaHVaH Elohim touch and change them, that they may also receive the REWARD … FOR …

Great is your REWARD in HEAVEN!” Mattityahu - Matthew 5:12.

Shalom in Messiah  - Yahushua.

May YHVH Elohim bless and keep you in the palm of His hand always, in Messiah Yahushua’s loving Name!

Yahushua said; “No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him, and I will raise him up at the last day. It is written in the Prophets: They will all be taught by Elohim. Everyone who listens to the Father and learns from Him comes to Me. No one has seen the Father except the One who is from Elohim; only He has seen the Father. I tell you the truth he who believes has everlasting life.” Yochannan (John) 6:43-48.
