--Sharing our Lord
and Saviour Yahushua, Yeshua the Messiah to the
World!--
Please
Note: On this site we prefer to use the actual Name of
our loving Heavenly Father as it was written in the Hebrew and thus you will
note that we will use the four letter “Memorial Name” of
- YHVH,
which is pronounced as YaHVaH or YaHWaH,
also we will use our Heavenly Father’s tile - “Elohim”
rather than “God” and we need to remember that “Elohim”
(God) is NOT a name but an attribute, a title! In addition we also love to use
the actual Name of our beloved “Messiah” (written in Hebrew
as “Mashiach” and in Greek as “Christos”),
which is
- Yahushua or Yeshua, for this is the Messiah’s original Hebrew Name as
given to Him in Luke 1:31. This was
the only Name ever used when He was on the earth by His disciples and His
followers for hundreds of years thereafter. However it was changed to a foreign
name by the new church, which later became known as “the greater Roman
catholic church.” Occasionally, we may also use other Hebrew or Greek
names and words in our studies, but these will be translated when they are
used, either the first time in a study or at various times as needed for
clarity. For an explanation of YHVH’s most Holy and blessed
“Memorial Name” and the wonderful Name of our Messiah: Please read … “The
Memorial Name.”
The
three levels of learning & understanding of the blessed Word of YHVH Elohim (the Lord God):
When we read and study the blessed Scriptures,
the Word of YHVH Elohim as a believer in Yahushua the Messiah, we should keep
following three steps in always mind for they are a valuable guide and it will
certainly provide us with guidance and illuminate the sheer beauty and the
fullness of YHVH’s most blessed Word.
1. Who was YHVH Elohim, blessed be
His Holy Name speaking to?
2. When was it said?
3. How was His Word understood at the
time it was spoken/given?
I do believe that these three points are most
relevant to our understanding of 1. What the Almighty is saying at the time -
2. As well as what it means to us today - and 3. Indeed to you and me right now!
I pray that these studies on the Feasts of
YHVH will be a blessing to you and that they will provide you with “a
helmet, armour and the shield of YHVH Elohim (the LORD God)” and that we
are made ready to share His Word with those who are need of Salvation and His
love, which can only come through faith in our Heavenly Father and His Anointed
one, Yahushua the Messiah, or as many throughout the world say it “Yeshua.”
Shalom -
Peace be with you, in Yahushua THE Messiah!

“Israel
a Passing Crisis”
With Elder/Teacher
– Reuben ben Gershom
Before we accepted Yahushua (Yeshua), as Lord
and our Saviour into our lives, we may recall how volatile our position of life
really was. In fact, spiritually we were in a state of constant crisis. Peace,
the peace that only Yahushua can bring into our lives came the moment we
believed in Him and when we repented of our sins. At that very moment we were
reconciled with YaHVaH Elohim, blessed be His Holy Name, in and through the
blessed Name of Yahushua, although many will have originally come to that road
via the name of Jesus and I pray that in due course that they will be led by
the Holy Spirit to be obedient to our Lord and commence to use His Name as He
has so clearly asked of us when He said … “Ask it in My
Name.” And believe me, He did mean NOT in any other name!!! Read - “The Memorial Name.”
Pondering this thought, we will all realise
that the vast majority in the world continue to live in crisis for today it is
a sinful world full of evil, the self and lust! However, for those who will
submit unto the Lord it is “a passing crisis,” especially for those
who will be redeemed prior to that time when our blessed Messiah will come for
His Bride.
In this study beloved, we are going to look at
“Israel's
Passing Crisis,” which is based on a Word given by Elohim’s prophet
Tzefanyahu - Zephaniah in Chapter Three of his book. Unlike most other
prophets, Tzefanyahu provides much detail of his family’s background. In fact, in
the first verse of the book, he provided details of his families four
generations. The Book of Tzefanyahu commences with my
favourite three Hebrew words “Ha-Davar YHVH” which
translates as “The Word (of) YaHVaH.”
“The Word of YHVH
that came to Tzefanyahu the son of Cushi, the son of Gedaliah, the son of Amariah, the son
of Hezekiah, in the days of Josiah the son of Amon, king of Judah.”
Chapter 1:1.
His name Tzefanyahu - Zephaniah has a
wonderful meaning … “YHVH has treasured,” or “YHVH
protects.” It was a well-chosen name for that time. There is no doubt
that this prophet may not rival some of the great prophets like Yeshayahu -
Isaiah in sublimity, nor did he match the eloquence and imaginative powers of
Hosea, yet he was a prophet who yielded to no one, as we will soon see by the
impressive and forceful manner in which he delivers Elohim’s Word,
combined with a powerful warning. A warning, that speaks of a cloud of
retribution that would soon burst a deluge of fire and blood. His style
alternates between stern denunciation, and then of soothing comfort. The vigour
and clarity of his diction compensate for what Tzefanyahu may lack in charm and
deep insight into human nature.
Sadly, Tzefanyahu - Zephaniah
faced a corrupt and a godless nation, the nation of Judah,
the very people who are identified by YHVH as “My people”
and we need to remember that this is a title the people of Israel never
sought. However, at that time, as Judah continued to live in sin, thus the
Almighty had to act on His Word, for YHVH, blessed be His Holy Name, is not a
respecter of persons, be they chosen or not. Elohim must and will punish the
children of disobedience, according to His Word!
Far away, in the north east of Judah,
was the mighty state of Assyria and this was the nation that would be used by
the Almighty as His instrument in order to bring about Judah’s
destruction as a corrective measure. This destruction would be a day in which
His righteousness would be vindicated.
It would be the “Day of YHVH
– Day of the LORD.” Tzefanyahu at all times rightly
sought to inspire fear of that coming day into the hearts of his hearers and
constantly appeals for true “repentance,” in Hebrew the word
is “Teshuva,” which means to “Return” to
YHVH Elohim, in order for them to be redeemed, restored and be made whole once
again!
Tzefanyahu - Zephaniah points out
that through this judgement, mercy will come to those whom YaHVaH Elohim truly intends to deliver. Those with genuine Teshuva
- Repentant Hearts, will sing praises unto the just and loving Elohim, the Elohim
of Avraham, Yitzchak - Isaac and Ya’akov - Jacob, who dwells in their
midst. YHVH, blessed be He, at ALL times has a redemptive plan for His people.
Even as His people were taken captive and suffered persecution in Assyria, Medo-Persia and during the last 2000 years, His
redemptive plan was, and is always in operation.
The redemptive plan proves that
the dispersion and persecution of Israel
is, a “Passing Crisis,” for the time will come that Israel will
once again “seek refuge in the Name of YaHVaH their Elohim. Tzefanyahu -
Zephaniah 3:12.
Now let us take a closer look chapter
three of Tzefanyahu - Zephaniah, as it contains some very powerful teaching
on the subject of Israel's
crisis. As we study the Word, we will realise that this chapter is divided into
three distinct divisions.
1.
Judgement of the Corrupt City - Verses 1 to 8.
2.
Promised Blessings in Salvation – verses 9 to 13.
3.
That Salvation demands Praise and Worship – verses 14 to 20.
Twenty five times our Heavenly
Father says, “I will” in this chapter. It is interesting to
note that YaHVaH
Elohim, blessed be His Holy Name, spends more time
on restoration than punishment. “I will Punish” occurs 10
times. “I will Destroy” occurs is said just once. However, “I
will Restore” occurs 14 times, thus this is double the perfect number
7. Praise YaHVaH
Elohim, the Creator of Heaven and Earth who in His
ever-loving Mercy sent His only Begotten Son in order that all who believe in
Him and repent of their sins are saved! Be they Jew or Gentile, and they will
become ONE in the Body – “Neither Jew nor Greek!”
Let us now read and consider verses
1 to 8 of chapter 3.
“Woe to her who is
rebellious and polluted, to the oppressing city! She has not obeyed His voice,
she has not received correction; she has not trusted in YHVH, she has not drawn
near to her Elohim. Her princes in her midst are roaring lions; her judges are
evening wolves that leave not a bone until morning. Her prophets are insolent,
treacherous people; her priests have polluted the sanctuary, they have done
violence to the law. YHVH is righteous in her midst, he will do no
unrighteousness. Every morning He brings His justice to light; he never fails,
but the unjust knows no shame. ‘I have cut off nations, their fortresses
are devastated; I have made their streets desolate, with none passing by. Their
cities are destroyed; there is no one, no inhabitant. I said, ‘Surely you
will fear Me, you will receive instruction’, so that her dwelling would
not be cut off, Despite everything for which I punished her. But they rose
early and corrupted all their deeds. ‘Therefore wait for Me,’ says
YHVH, ‘Until the day I rise up for plunder; my determination is to gather
the nations to My assembly of kingdoms, to pour on them My indignation, all my
fierce anger; all the earth shall be devoured with the fire of My
jealousy.’” Tzefanyahu - Zephaniah 3:1-8.
There is so much teaching in this
Scripture, especially in verse 1. This verse contains three words, which has
special meanings. The Hebrew word for “Filthy” is “Moreah.”
This word is derived from the root “Marah” which is more
correctly translated as “Rebellious.” What Tzefanyahu was
saying is this … “the Children of Israel were rebellious against
YHVH Elohim and were behaving in a vile and abhorrent way.” (Paraphrased).
The word “Polluted”
in Hebrew is “Ga’al” which
also means, “Defiled.” This same word is found in Yeshayahu
- Isaiah chapter 59 Verse 3. “For your hands are defiled (Ga’al) with blood.” Judah
was filthy in rebellion and polluted or defiled, with their hands stained with
blood. The truth is that Elohim’s chosen people had once again turned
their backs on their Creator and were guilty of making sacrifices to pagan
gods. Poor Jerusalem, the City of Peace in Tzefanyahu is
now called in the Word, “the oppressing city.”
Now beloved, I have some very
important news for you, for here is one of the most powerful pieces of
teachings you will ever find in THE WORD! This is something that is not
generally understood by those in the church, but today you will learn something
very powerful.
It is important for us to realise that the
word “Ga'al”, which we have learned in
Tzefanyahu means “Defiled” or “Polluted”
has another meaning in the Hebrew. As we come to understand the fullness of
this word, I pray that you will be richly blessed by the wonderful revelation,
which is to come next.
In Shemos - Exodus chapter 6 the
word “Ga'al” is used, however
there it is translated as “Redeemed” or “Rescued,”
being “Covered.” In fact, in this chapter it is the very
first time the word “Ga'al” appears
in the Word of Elohim. Yet in Tzefanyahu, “Ga’al”
is not translated as “Redeemed” but as “Polluted”
or “defiled.” The question is how can this be?
The fact is this beloved, to correctly
understand the word redeemed, we have to realise that to be
“redeemed,” we have to be “covered” or
“surrounded” with protective care. When the word “Ga’al” is used in the correct tense, we are
redeemed with a total covering and protection, for Messiah Yahushua, the Lord Yeshua who is our
total covering. Praise YaHVaH – HalleluYAH.
Whoever believes in Yahushua
as THE Messiah, and has repented of their sins, they have the assurance
that the shed blood of the Lamb, totally “Covers,” and
cleanses them from their sins.
However, when
this same word is used in the negative tense it represents a covering
of evil. Thus, it is either a covering of good or a covering of evil as
it is the case in Tzefanyahu. The Judeans, living in Jerusalem tragically had
their hands “polluted,” or “stained,”
“covered” in blood, said YHVH Elohim through His prophet
Tzefanyahu - Zephaniah.
We now come to the concluding
word of verse 1, “the oppressing.” In Hebrew, it is “HaYonah.”
This word is rather strange, for it also translates as “the
Dove.”
Thus, in a sense we see Jerusalem,
the city of Elohim
likened to a senseless dove, or let’s say a pigeon, flying aimlessly
around in thoughtless pursuit of its own desires, or wickedness.
Wickedness and fleshly desires of its
inhabitants turned Jerusalem
into what was already described as an “oppressing city.” Judah, the people of Elohim should have known better, for in their midst stood the mighty Temple
of their Heavenly Father who had rescued them out of Egypt with great signs and wonders.
In addition, all nations round-a-bout them still had great fear of what they
knew to be a great and a powerful building of Mighty Elohim of the children
Israel, but sadly these same children had gone astray from their Elohim who has
saved them time and time again!
However, praise be to
YaHVaH, even during times of great sin and evil, there are always a remnant in
Him, one being the faithful prophet, Tzefanyahu. Thus, YHVH Elohim (The LORD
God) sent him to proclaim His Word and he did so without any fear.
YaHVaH Elohim, blessed be His Holy Name, declared in verse 6 that
He has “cut off nations” due to their horrendous sins, and
their “cities were made desolate, without inhabitants.” No
stronger warning could have been given to Judah.
Then in verse 7 the Almighty says, “Surely you will fear Me, you will
receive instruction.” “Instruction” in Hebrew is “Mu’sar,” meaning “harsh
correction.”
The question is did the people heed to this
powerful warning? Sadly, the answer is, No, of course they did not for Judah
simply continued living in their sinful ways, and YHVH, blessed be He,
according His Word had to correct them as he had already stated in Vayikra -
Leviticus 26 and Davarim - Deuteronomy 28. However, even when He speaks of
punishment, there is always a redemptive element.
“But if they confess their
iniquity and the iniquity of their fathers, with their unfaithfulness in which
they were unfaithful to Me, and that they also have walked contrary to Me, and
that I also have walked contrary to them and have brought them into the land of
their enemies; if their uncircumcised hearts are humbled, and they accept their
guilt, then I will remember My covenant with Jacob, and My covenant with Isaac
and My covenant with Abraham I will remember; I will remember the land …
Yet for all that, when they are in the land of their enemies, I will not cast
them away, nor shall I abhor them, to utterly destroy them and break My
covenant with them; for I am YHVH their Elohim. But for their sake I will
remember the covenant of their ancestors, whom I brought out of the land of Egypt in the sight of the nations, that I might be
their Elohim: I am YHVH.” Vayikra - Leviticus 26:40-42, 44-45.
Whilst Elohim must pour out His
indignation, upon those that have turned away from Him, there is this promise,
if Israel,
or anyone for that matter, will only “return unto Him, He will return
unto them.”
“For then I will restore to
the peoples a pure language that they all may call on the name of YHVH, to
serve Him with one accord. From beyond the rivers of Ethiopia, My worshipers, the
daughter of My dispersed ones, shall bring My offering. In that day you shall
not be shamed for any of your deeds in which you transgress against Me; for
then I will take away from your midst those who rejoice in your pride, and you
shall no longer be haughty in My holy mountain. I will leave in your midst a
meek and humble people and they shall trust in the name of YHVH. The remnant of
Israel shall do no unrighteousness and speak no lies, nor shall a deceitful
tongue be found in their mouth; for they shall feed their flocks and lie down,
and no one shall make them afraid” Tzefanyahu - Zephaniah 3:9-13.
Verse 9 states, “Then I
will restore to the peoples a pure language.” “A pure
language” is better translated as “a pure lip.” Human lips in
that great day to come (when Yahushua our Messiah returns to reign on the
earth) will not be contaminated by the mention of idolatrous gods. Instead,
they will mention and call upon the precious name of YaHVaH “with
one accord.” Elohim is not finished with His people Israel, for He
desires to save them. Shaul (Paul) of Tarsus in Romans chapter
11 makes this quite clear,
“And so all Israel will be saved, as it is written:
‘The Deliverer will come out of Zion,
and He will turn away ungodliness from Jacob’”
Romans 11:26.
“And so all Israel will be
saved.” Beloved, this does not mean that every single Jewish person will
be saved, no certainly not, but as the Word clearly states in Tzefanyahu -
Zephaniah 3:13 - “She’e’rith
Yisroel,” a “remnant of Israel.” Thus, the
faithful of the House of Israel (and I mean from all the 12 tribes) that remain
at the conclusion of the “Time of Jacob’s
Trouble” at the Second Coming of Yahushua, will believe in Him! For then
indeed, “the Lord will be in the midst of them.”
All nations will then unite in worshipping the “King of kings and Lord of
lords.” HalleluYAH.
“Sing, O daughter of Zion! Shout O Israel! Be glad
and rejoice with all your heart, O daughter of Jerusalem! YHVH has taken away your
judgements; He has cast out your enemy. The King of Israel, YHVH, is in your
midst; you shall see disaster no more. In that day, it shall be said to Jerusalem: Do not fear; Zion let not your hands be weak. YHVH your
Elohim in your midst, the Mighty One, will save; He will rejoice over you with
gladness, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with
singing. I will gather those who sorrow over the appointed assembly, who are
among you, to whom its reproach is a burden. Behold, at that time I will deal
with all who afflict you; I will save the lame, and gather those who were
driven out; I will appoint them for praise and fame in every land where they
were put to shame. At that time I will bring you back, even at the time I
gather you; for I will give you fame and praise among all the peoples of the
earth, when I return your captives before your eyes,’ says YHVH”
Tzefanyahu - Zephaniah 3:14-20.
The last seven verses of this
chapter prove the never-ending love of the YHVH, blessed be He. For even now,
when His people are back in the land of promise, the state of Israel, Elohim
is in “the midst of them.” YHVH is there, sustaining both
His people and His land.
We may ask ourselves, “Who really won
the Six-Day War? Was it the mighty army of Israel? Or was it the mighty hand
of Elohim?” Humanly speaking Israel was totally outnumbered and
outgunned, thus they should have lost the battle and had all Israeli’s
forced from the land and driven into the sea, as proclaimed by the Arab Nations
at that time. But YHVH had already declared in His Word that “no
weapon formed against you (Israel)
shall prosper” Yeshayahu - Isaiah 54:17. Elohim is in control of His
land. However, let me make it clear that the current State of Israel is NOT the
completed nor the intended nation of Israel of Elohim, for it is a sinful
nation and sadly they are still far removed from our Heavenly Father. But the
time is nearing that He will make the name of Israel, “a name and a
praise among all people of the earth, when I turn back your captivity before
your eyes, saith YHVH” verse 20. But there
is still much to happen before that yet!
Like I have already indicated,
the crisis is far from over as yet. It is now our responsibility to sow the
seeds among the Children of Israel be it in Israel itself as well as worldwide.
Some have said, “well brother, not that many Jews are being
saved.” To which I would reply, “You are wrong for there are
many believers in Messiah Yahushua in Israel and around the world.”
In addition many more will accept Yahushua as their Messiah before He comes for
the faithful, with the “sound of the trumpet.” However, the truth
is that countless thousands will come to know Him during “the Great
Tribulation” and much will be due to the seeds we sow this very day! It
will be because we have prayed and sowed the seeds that YHVH has given us in
His precious Word.
Because of Israel’s
sin, rejecting Messiah Yahushua as a nation, Israel has been in crisis for
almost 2000 years. She has suffered much, but praise Elohim it is “a
passing crisis.” The word of promise clearly states, that the Elohim will
never reject His people Israel,
for the day is coming that “they will take refuge in the name of
YaHVaH.” This is the Name that through the ignorance and total
stupidity of the priests and rabbis of ancient times and not understanding
their Elohim and His Word they have lost the most holy Name, They will once
again come to know the “Memorial Name” and pronounce the
Name” of YaHVaH Elohim as well as know and praise the wonderful name of
our Messiah, which also contains the blessed name of Elohim Yahushua” meaning “Yahvah Saves.” May Israel come to
fully understand this blessed truth!
Beloved, we the faithful in the
Messiah have been given a very special duty and a vital role for this day. We
are to be sowers and fishers of men by preaching, teaching the Word of Elohim
to Israel and the Gentiles
as well as to be actively proclaiming the Sacred Names to Israel and the
World! For the world has gone astray and commenced using false and other
names, and that is why there are so many false cults and religions.
“‘Therefore behold,
the days are coming,’ says YHVH, ‘that it shall no more be said,
'YHVH lives who brought up the children of Israel
from the land
of Egypt.’ But, ‘YHVH
lives who brought up the children of Israel from the land of the north
and from all the lands where He had driven them. For I will bring them back
into their land which I gave to their fathers. Behold, I will send for many
fishermen,’ says YHVH, ‘and they shall fish them’” Yirmyahu - Jeremiah 16:14-16.
“But go rather to the lost
sheep of the house of Israel.
And as you go, preach, saying, ‘The kingdom of heaven is at hand.’
Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, and cast out demons. Freely
you have received, freely give” Mattityahu - Matthew
10:6-8.
“Then he (Messiah Yahushua)
said to them, ‘Thus it is written, and thus it was necessary for the
Messiah to suffer and to rise from the dead the third day, and that repentance
and remission of sins should be preached in His name to all nations, beginning
at Jerusalem. And you are witnesses of these things’” Luke 24:46-48.
“And he (Yahushua) said to
them, ‘Go into the world and preach the Good News to every creature. He
who believes and is immersed will be saved; but he who does not believe will be
condemned’” Markus - Mark
16:15-16.
Much has been said from pulpits
and in writings of Israel's
rejection of Israel’s
Messiah. But Shaul - Paul deals with
this subject very clearly in Romans chapters 9 and 10. However, I praise YHVH,
that even with Israel
in crisis the following points should be looked at very clearly;
1… Israel's
rejection was never total in the past.
For during the past two thousand years there
have been many Israelites believing in Yahushua as their Messiah. All the first
believers were Hebrews (Jews), as were all the apostles. Indeed, Hebrew
individuals, those faithful in Messiah Yahushua, wrote all the Books of
Messiah, the New Testament (Gospels in Hebrew). During the past 400 years,
there are a good number of Rabbis and other notable and other Jewish
individuals on record as being believers in Yahushua our Lord, including the
author in 1977.
2…
Israel's
rejection as a nation is not fatal in the present.
For He who is “The Hope” (in
Hebrew: “Hatikvah”) is doing a mighty work amongst His people
today. The author and thousands of Born Again of Israel throughout the world
and in the Land
of Israel itself, testifies to this
fact. In the Land
of Israel there are hundreds of
Messianic Synagogues. Thank You Messiah Yahushua, our great Redeemer for what
you and the Holy Spirit is doing right now!
3…
Israel's
rejection of the Lord Yahushua
is not final in the future.
For many will be saved in the final week,
during “the Great Tribulation.” Praise Elohim, Your Word is true!
The Word is clear there will be
many more of the house of Israel
saved. Their crisis will then come to and end as Yahushua becomes Lord of their
lives. Thus it is our duty to go and be fishers of souls, preach the Word of
YHVH “to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.”
But the sad fact is that the vast
majority of the nation of Israel must enter the “Time of Jacob's
Trouble” during that time of horror, Praise YHVH, 144,000 Hebrews
(Children of Israel) will be saved and become the preachers and teachers of the
day. Then many more Hebrew lives will be Redeemed through the ministry of these
faithful Israelites. However, now is our time to be prayerful
“fishermen” and “sowers” and share Yahushua with Israel as YHVH
leads us.
However, please note, not everyone is called
to share with the Jewish people, for the Almighty will prepare those who will
have that special gift and a calling, but we are all called to pray for Israel. Why
should I care or pray for Israel,
read the chapter “Why Care and Pray for Israel?”
for further Scriptural revelations.
“Then He said (Messiah
Yahushua) to His disciples, ‘The harvest truly is plentiful, but the
labourers are few. Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out labourers
into His harvest’” Mattityahu - Matthew 9:37-38.
Israel is
in crisis, but it is a Passing Crisis, for Yahushua our Messiah has the answer!
“Then know this, you and
all the people of Israel:
It is by the Name of Yahushua the Messiah of Nazareth, whom you placed on the
stake, but whom Elohim raised from the dead, that this man stands before you
healed. He is ‘the stone your builders rejected, which has become the
capstone.’ Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name
under heaven given to men by which we must be saved.” Acts 4:10-12
Thank you YaHVaH Elohim
for the day will come when Israel's
Crisis will be over …
May YaHVaH Elohim
bless and keep you in the palm of His hand as you grow in Him and await the
soon RETURN of Messiah!
Shalom
(Peace) in Messiah Yahushua.

Yahushua said; “No
one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws
him, and I will raise him up at the last day. It is written in the Prophets:
They will all be taught by Elohim. Everyone who listens to the Father and
learns from Him comes to Me. No one has seen the
Father except the One who is from Elohim; only He has seen the Father. I tell
you the truth he who believes has everlasting life.” Yochannan (John)
