The Tabernacle

---Sharing our Lord and Saviour Yahushua, Yeshua the Messiah to the World!

Please Note: On this site we prefer to use the actual Name of our loving Heavenly Father as it was written in the Hebrew and thus you will note that we will use the four letter “Memorial Name” of   - YHVH, which is pronounced as YaHVaH or YaHWaH, also we will use our Heavenly Father’s title - Elohim rather than “God” and we need to remember that “Elohim” (God) is NOT a name but an attribute, a title! In addition we also love to use the actual Name of our beloved Messiah (written in Hebrew as “Mashiach” and in Greek as “Christos”), which is  - Yahushua (Yeshua in short) for this is the Messiah’s original Hebrew Name as given to Him in Luke 1:31. This was the only Name ever used when He was on the earth by His disciples and His followers for hundreds of years thereafter. However it was changed to a foreign name by the new church, which later became known as “the greater Roman catholic church.” Occasionally, we may also use other Hebrew or Greek names and words in our studies, but these will be translated when they are used, either the first time in a study or at various times as needed for clarity. For an explanation of YHVH’s most Holy and blessed “Memorial Name” and the wonderful Name of our Messiah: Please read The Memorial Name.

The three levels of learning & understanding of the blessed Word of YHVH Elohim (the Lord God):

When we read and study the blessed Scriptures, the Word of YHVH Elohim as a believer in Yahushua the Messiah, we should keep following three steps in always mind for they are a valuable guide and it will certainly provide us with guidance and illuminate the sheer beauty and the fullness of YHVH’s most blessed Word.

1. Who was YHVH Elohim, blessed be His Holy Name speaking to?

2. When was it said?

3. How was His Word understood at the time it was spoken/given?

I do believe that these three points are most relevant to our understanding of 1. What the Almighty is saying at the time - 2. As well as what it means to us today - and 3.  Indeed to you and me right now!

I pray that these studies on the Feasts of YHVH will be a blessing to you and that they will provide you with “a helmet, armour and the shield of YHVH Elohim (the LORD God)” and that we are made ready to share His Word with those who are need of Salvation and His love, which can only come through faith in our Heavenly Father and His Anointed one, Yahushua the Messiah, or as many throughout the world say it “Yeshua.”

Shalom - Peace be with you, in Yahushua THE Messiah!

Glimpses of Hope

“Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Honour one another above yourselves. Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervour, serving the Lord (Yahushua). Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, and faithful in prayer. Share with Elohim’s people who are in need. Practice hospitality.” Romans 12:9-13.

Introduction & Tante Riek – “The Lady and the Deer.”

Israel has been persecuted over the centuries. Due to her sins, YaHVaH Elohim (the LORD God) scattered them throughout the world and told them that their enemies would hunt them. However, YaHVaH Elohim, blessed be His Holy Name, made a Covenant with Avraham, Yitzchak - Isaac and Ya’akov - Jacob, and it is a Covenant He will keep “forever”!

“Yet for all that, when they are in the land of their enemies, I will not cast them away, nor shall I abhor them, to utterly destroy them and break My covenant with them; for I am YHVH their Elohim. But for their sake I will remember the covenant of their ancestors, whom I brought out of the land of Egypt in the sight of the nations, that I might be their Elohim: I am YHVH” Vayikra - Leviticus 26:44-45.

But we need also remember that Elohim will also remember everyone and every nation that have done evil unto Israel over the many centuries.

“YHVH's vengeance will soon fall upon all Gentile nations. For as you have done unto Israel, so shall it be done unto you” Ovadyah – Obadiah 1:15.

According to the Word of Elohim, all who persecuted Israel stand condemned and His vengeance will fall upon them. Only those who have truly repented of their evil and have been reconciled with Elohim through the shed Blood of the Lamb (Yahushua), who is “the Passover sacrificed for us,” will escape this punishment.

In Part Two of my book “Dutch Tzedakah” I cover extensive details of many blessed believing individuals who rescued and saved Jews from the Holocaust, as well as American and British airman, soldiers and others Dutch resistance fighters from the  Nazis. One of these faithful ones was a wonderful lady who became known as “The Lady and the Deer,” her code name was Tante (aunty) Riek. This dear lady was the head of an organisation that she commenced, which in due course brought in the fold the Ten Boom family who became better known around the world due to a movie being made of the Corrie Ten Boom story. But it must be said that Tante Riek was superbly supported by her husband and her pastor at all times! However in the end Tante Riek and her wonderful team of workers were responsible for saving well over one thousand Jewish lives and several thousand American and British service men and many others.

Sadly, she was betrayed together with her husband who survived. In a horror concentration camp for women, Tante Riek was tied to a cold bare concrete wall and hung naked all the time, with soldiers standing around, whilst being tortured beyond belief and to the point of death, when a doctor would keep her alive for the next day of questioning. This evil was long and slow process taking many weeks! But, I will not describe the details here for it is much too painful, however some of it is available in my book that you can read for free online. At first I did not include it in my original book, for the details were not available, only the very basics, for the Germans never released what happened. However in the early 1990s I discovered the truth (details below). The reason why I added the description of her horrors this is to prove the mighty strength of faith in her Lord, and the point is - would our faith be that strong in such a situation? Will you stand up for Yahushua, or betray the Lord? Blessed be the Name of Yahushua, all the time during the evil that was happening Tante Riek sang songs of praise and constantly asked the Lord to forgive her tormentors, and did so right to the very end, until she could speak no more.

In the horrid torture story above I mentioned that there were “soldiers standing around,” and the reader may have wondered how I came to know what Tante Riek actually did and say during that horrific time.

In the early 1990s I was sharing a study at “Celebration Shalom” where there were a number of international pastors teaching the Word in different conference rooms at the Gold Coast (Surfers Paradise), Australia. After one of my meetings an older gentleman with a German accent came to me and he said, “Pastor Reuven will you please forgive me on behalf of Israel for hideous things that I did. I was a SS soldier at Ravensbruck in 1944.”

We had a discussion and he told me that he had “come to faith a long time ago,” remembering the “great faith of a certain lady in Ravensbruck who was murdered” (Tante Riek) and that he had “wept and repented before the Lord” and that he had been “washed clean by the blood of the Lamb of God.” Upon hearing that, I simply stood up and hugged him and said; then brother I have nothing to forgive you, for the LORD our Elohim has already forgiven you for your sins, and He has told us in His Word that He remembers them no more. Thus, in the Lord you are, and will always be my beloved brother! We had a long hug and he departed a new man. It was certainly something that greatly touched me and it was an unexpected closure to this heroic story of “The Lady and the Deer.” The Jewish people are likened as the deer, for they knew they could trust her and thus they would look up to her, for this gentle deer would fully be trusting of her. See the image and story online at … www.dutchtzedakah.com/dt-ch11.htm.

Therefore, in what we have read above we should aware that this is obviously a great story of Hope and great courage, but Tante Riek’s courage was yet to be tested to the fullest.

It was later that a German SS Officer was present at a most horrific scene, but whilst there he heard a voice full of love and sharing the Word of Elohim and His Messiah Yahushua through a dear lady who was being tortured by German officers, yet she was a shining light and he was touched. Later this man was changed and saved by the shed blood of the Lamb without spot and blemish! I believe that this story is the ultimate when it comes to the meaning of Glimpses of Hope! It was he who gave me the tragic information of the events in that chamber of horrors.

Two Heroic Jewish / Hebrew Tales!

As we have seen, even during times of great evil, we can find “Glimpses of Hope.” In the next two sections there are two such glimpses, two powerful stories of faith. Both relate to Israel, the first during a time of great evil in modern history, World War II and the second one during Temple times.

I pray, as we see the kind of faith displayed in these events, that it will challenge us to enter into a deeper walk of faith with Messiah Yahushua - Yeshua.

One of the first things the Germans did as they entered Hebrew communities during World War II was to set fire to all the Synagogues. The purpose of this act was to terrorise and demoralise the Children of Israel. It was done without shame and openly in broad daylight. Often a German army band would strike up in a triumphant march as the fires burned. For the occasion, Nazis would gather local Hebrews (Jews) and force them to watch the destruction. The Nazis feeling all powerful, with the help of sympathetic locals, would assail the Synagogue, which is the bastion of Hebrew strength. More than once, faithful but oppressed, and persecuted Hebrews would defy death and rush forth in holy fervour to rescue their Torah scrolls (containing the Five Books of Moses) out of the burning Synagogue.

Well remembered is the community of Pshevrosk in Poland. The Nazis engulfed their Synagogue as well as the house of study (the “Yeshiva”) in flames. Hordes of German soldiers and officers stood around enjoying the spectacle. Many Hebrews were gathered behind them with their heads bowed in pain and humiliation. The Rabbi of the community had been ordered to stand up front, thus he was being made an object of scorn and derision. Suddenly the Rabbi started to run. Another two Hebrews ran after him. The Germans stopped laughing and shouted, “Halt, halt, or we’ll shoot.” However, the Rabbi did not hear a thing. Nothing could stop him, not even the flames as he ran into the burning Synagogue. He and the two men disappeared into the fiery furnace. The Germans were speechless with astonishment. A few moments later, the Rabbi reappeared. His clothes singed, but his face was shining with a triumphant smile as his hands clutched a Torah scroll. Yes, he had saved the precious Word of Elohim!

“Juden impudence!” the German commander in chief screeched. They pointed their guns at the burning Synagogue and started to fire, making sure the other two men would not be able to come out. Both men were burned to death holding a Torah scroll each in their arms. The Rabbi was severely beaten with the butts of their rifles, but he held onto the Torah as if he and the Torah scroll were one and inseparable, as, in fact they were!

An eternal covenant exists between Israel and the Torah, the Word of Elohim. Ever since Sinai, the two have been joined together, bound by a common fate. Those who would attempt to destroy the Children of Israel would always try to destroy the Word of Elohim, the Torah. However, as the centuries have shown, neither Israel nor the Word of Elohim can be annihilated.

Many have tried to destroy the Hebrew people by destroying their Torah scrolls, their Synagogues, even both Temples, but Israel has persevered in their faith of their Creator, blessed be He, the Elohim of Avraham, Yitzchak - Isaac and Ya’akov - Jacob. Thus the promise, as described earlier found in Vayikra - Leviticus 26 and many other Scriptures, that YaHVaH Elohim, blessed be His Holy Name, would never allow Israel to be destroyed, nor would He break His covenant with them!

The fact is friends, the adversary (hasatan) has done all he can to destroy the Hebrew people and even used “so-called Christians” including Popes, Kings, Queens and evil warlords like Hitler. The adversary knows, only when faithful Israel is restored to the “Land of Promise” can Messiah Yahushua return! And the good news is that in reality the adversary, haSatan has already been defeated, he is just working on bringing as many down with him at the last minute!

The priests at the Temple.

In conclusion, let me relate some of the dramatic events that took place when the Temple was destroyed. As the enemy came into Elohim’s Temple, they found faithful priests serving Elohim at the altar. Although they began killing them with swords and spears, the priests would not interrupt their bringing of the daily offering. When the head of one priest was cut off, another came and immediately took the ritual basin out of his hands. This happened with many priests in quick succession, until they had completed depositing on the altar everything that was supposed to be there according to the Torah / Law and they had completed the order of service. Then the enemy, just like the Nazi madmen, ignited the Holy of Holies. The priests that remained alive threw themselves into the fire. Tragically thousands of young priests were consumed together with the House of YaHVaH Elohim. At the same time tens of thousands of Hebrews died martyrs’ deaths for their faith; sanctifying the name of Elohim and clutching to His Word the Torah!

“The bush burned with fire, and the bush was not consumed” Shemos - Exodus 3: 2.

This verse contains a picture of Israel stylised as a lowly bush, who for centuries have been hunted by evil ones. Yet, the Hebrew people to this day have never been consumed or utterly destroyed, nor will they ever be, for YaHVaH Elohim, blessed be His Holy Name, made an eternal Covenant with them.

However, beloved in Messiah Yahushua the meaning of this same verse can also apply to all that are saved by the shed Blood of the Lamb of Elohim. We must always stand strong in Messiah Yahushua, even in the face of adversity. Many believers (the “protesters” & those who stood by the TRUTH of Elohim’s Word) have done so over the past two thousand years. Just like the story above, “The Lady with the Deer” that can be found in the author’s book “Dutch Tzedakah.” This book, by this author, contains the following. Part One, the fascinating history of Hebrews from the Promised land to Egypt, back to the Land of milk and honey, Messiah’s time and Israel rejection of Him as a nation, but not by the faithful individuals who knew and believed in Him. Then Israel’s dispersion to the four corners of the earth. The book briefly looks at their time in Europe, Spain and the inquisition, then Jewish life in the Netherlands until the arrival of Adolf Hitler. Part Two has various heroic stories of Dutch believers who rescued Hebrews and others from the hands of the evil ones, during World War Two. These stories should be read by all, for they are truly uplifting. Most of these life-changing stories have never been written before. Go to: www.dutchtzedakah.com.

Having read this chapter, one might ask; “Is my faith and commitment in Messiah Yahushua strong enough?” I pray beloved that it is. Allow our Heavenly Father to have control of your life, for nothing is impossible for the faithful. It is my hearts prayer and desire that you have been challenged to become more involved in His work.

And He (Messiah Yahushua) said to them, ‘Go into all the world and preach the Good News to every creature. He who believes and is immersed (baptised) will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. And these signs will follow those who believe. In My name they will cast out demons, they will speak with new tongues, they will take up serpents, and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them, they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover’” Markus - Mark 16:15-18.

Be assured YaHVaH Elohim will bless all who answer His call to “Go” and share Glimpses of Messiah Yahushua in our own lives with others. Go and share the light that is within you, which are Glimpses of Him who is “The Hope,” our “Hatikvah.” Zecharyah – Zechariah 9:12.

If those in Yahushua are as strong, as Tante Riek and Israel was in the glimpses as we have seen in the examples above, then beloved we will never be consumed by the evil one!

As you go and share the love, mercy, and forgiveness that our beloved Messiah offers, may the Spirit of YaHVaH Elohim touch and change them, that they may also receive the REWARD … FOR …

Great is your REWARD in HEAVEN!” Mattityahu - Matthew 5:12.

Shalom in Messiah  - Yahushua.

May YHVH Elohim bless and keep you in the palm of His hand always, in Messiah Yahushua’s loving Name!

Yahushua said; “No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him, and I will raise him up at the last day. It is written in the Prophets: They will all be taught by Elohim. Everyone who listens to the Father and learns from Him comes to Me. No one has seen the Father except the One who is from Elohim; only He has seen the Father. I tell you the truth he who believes has everlasting life.” Yochannan (John) 6:43-48.
