Please
Note: On this site we prefer to use the actual Name of our
loving Heavenly Father as it was written in the Hebrew and thus you will note
that we will use the four letter “Memorial Name” of 
- YHVH,
which is pronounced as YaHVaH or YaHWaH, also we will use our
Heavenly Father’s title, which is “Elohim”
rather than “God.” We need to remember that
“Elohim” (God) is NOT a name but an attribute, a title! In addition
we also love to use the actual/real Name of our beloved “Messiah”
in Greek written as “Christos”, but His loving Name is 
- “Yahushua”
or “Yeshua”
in short, for this is our Saviours original Hebrew Name as given to Him in
Lukas - Luke 1:31. This was the only Name ever used when He was on the earth by
His family, disciples and His followers for hundreds of years thereafter.
However, it was changed to a foreign name by that new Church, that later became
known as “the greater Roman
Church.” Occasionally, we may also use other
Hebrew or Greek names and words in our studies, but these will be translated
when they are used, either the first time in a study or at various times as
needed for clarity. For an explanation of YHVH’s most Holy and blessed
“Memorial Name” and the wonderful Name of our Messiah: Please read … “The
Memorial Name.”
The
three levels of learning & understanding of the blessed Word of YaHVaH Elohim
(the Lord God):
When we read and study the blessed Scriptures,
the Word of YHVH Elohim as a believer in Yahushua (Yeshua) the Messiah, we
should keep following three steps always in mind for they are a valuable guide
and it will certainly provide us with guidance and illuminate the sheer beauty
and the fullness of YHVH’s most blessed Word.
1. Who was YHVH
Elohim, blessed be His Holy Name speaking to?
2. When was it
said?
3. How was His
Word understood at the time it was spoken/given?
I do believe that these three points are most
relevant to our understanding of 1. What
the Almighty is saying at the time – 2. As well as what it means to us
today - and 3. Especially to you and me right now!

Part One - Introduction
In this study we are going to
look at an interesting Book in the Word, and a Book that has also been disputed
by some for the reason that it does not mention the name of Elohim (God).
Indeed this may be strange for a Book in the blessed Word of YHVH Elohim,
however there is so much more to this Book than meets the eye when one first
read’s it, for it is not just a remarkable story of victory, but it also
contains a massive prophecy that has not been realised until the early 1990s by
the author. Therefore, I am sure that you will find far more in the fascinating
story of Queen Esther
than you may ever thought before!
Before we commence we
should ask, who was the author of this Book? The
truth is that the Book of Esther does not actually name its author. However,
the most popular Hebrew traditions say that it was Mordecai who was of course
one of the major characters in the Book. However, it could also have been
either Ezra or Nehemiah for both would have been familiar with Persian customs
and the situation at hand. It is estimated that the date of writing would have
been between 460 and 350 B.C. The reason for writing the Book of Esther was to display the
providence of Elohim (God), especially in regard to His chosen people, Israel. The
Book of Esther records the institution of the Hebrew “Feast of
Purim” and the obligation of its perpetual observation. The Book of
Esther was read at the Feast of Purim to commemorate the great deliverance of
the Hebrew nation brought about by Elohim through Esther.
Hebrews (Jews) today still read Esther
during Purim every year!
Part
Two - A Summary of the Book of Esther
The Book of Esther can be divided into three
main sections.
1
… Chapters 1:1-2:18 – Esther
replaces Vashti;
2
… Chapters 2:19-7:10 – Mordecai overcomes Haman;
3 … Chapters 8:1-10:3 – Israel survives Haman’s
attempt to destroy them.
The noble Esther risked her own life when she
realized what was at stake for her people and she took in hand what could have
been a deadly manoeuvre as she took on the second-in-command of her
husband‘s kingdom, the evil Haman. However, she proved to be a wise and
most worthy opponent, all the while remaining humble and respectful of the
position of her husband, the king.
In many ways, Esther's
story is much like the story of Joseph
in Bereshis - Genesis 41. Both stories involve foreign monarchs who control the
destiny of the Israelites. Both accounts show the heroism of Israelite
individuals who provide the means for the salvation of their people and nation.
The hand of Elohim is evident, in that what appears to be a bad situation is
indeed very much under the control of the Almighty, who ultimately has the good
of the people at heart. At the center of this story is the ongoing division
between the Hebrews and the Amalakites, which was
recorded to have begun in the Book of Shemos - Exodus. Haman’s
goal is the final effort recorded in the Tenach - Old Testament period of the
total *eradication of the Hebrews.
However, his plans end’s up with his own demise and the elevation of his
enemy being the godly Mordecai who receives Haman’s
position in the royal court, as well as the salvation of the Israelites.
*Amazingly this plan of a “total
eradication of the Hebrews” by Haman, but this
would be was a tragic prophecy that would come true far in the future. Details
can be read in Part Four!
Feasting is a major theme of this Book: there
are ten recorded banquets, and many of the events were planned, plotted, or
exposed at these banquets. Although the name of Elohim is never mentioned in
this Book, it is apparent that the Jews of Susa sought His intervention when
they fasted and prayed for three days (Esther
4:16). In spite of the fact that the law allowing their destruction was written
according to the laws of the Medes and Persians, rendering it unchangeable, the
way was cleared for their prayers to be answered. Esther
risked her life by going not once uninvited before the king but twice, (Esther 4:1-2; 8:3). She was not content with the
destruction of Haman; she was intent on saving her
people. The institution of the Feast of Purim is written and preserved for all
to see and is still observed today. Elohim’s chosen people, without any
direct mention of His Name, were granted a stay of execution through the wisdom
and humility of Esther.
There were some wonderful
foreshadowing’s in the Book! In Esther, we are given a behind-the-scenes look at the
ongoing struggle of HaSatan (the adversary) against the purposes of YHVH Elohim
and especially against His promised Messiah. The entrance of Messiah into the
human race depended on the existence of the Children of Israel. Just as Haman plotted against the Israelites in order to destroy
them, so had Satan set himself against the coming of
the Messiah and Elohim’s people from the very beginning always attempting
to destroy them.
But just as Haman
was defeated on the very gallows he originally built for Mordecai, so will
Messiah use the very weapon that his enemy devised to destroy Him and His
spiritual seed. For the tree – the cross, by which Satan
planned to destroy the Messiah, was the very means through which Messiah
“having cancelled the written code, with its regulations, that was
against us and that stood opposed to us; He took it away, nailing it to the
tree. And thus He had disarmed the powers and authorities of the evil one, He
made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the tree
(cross)” (Colossians 2:14-15). Just as Haman
was hanged on the gallows he built for Mordecai, so the devil was crushed by
the tree he helped to erect through the enemies of Elohim to destroy our
beloved Messiah.
Part Three – What
does this all mean to us Today?
The Book of Esther shows the choice we make
between seeing the hand of YaHVaH
Elohim, blessed be His Holy Name, in our
circumstances in life and seeing things merely as a coincidence. Elohim is the
sovereign Ruler of the universe and we can be assured that His plans will not
be moved by the actions of evil men. Even though His Name may not be mentioned
in the Book, His providential care for His people, both individuals and the
nation, is evident throughout. For instance, we cannot fail to see the Almighty
exerting influence over King Xerxes’s
timely insomnia. Through the example of Mordecai and Esther,
the silent love language our Father often uses to communicate directly to our
spirits is shown in this Book.
Esther proved to have a godly and teachable spirit that also showed great
strength and willing obedience. Esther’s
humility was markedly different from those around her, and this caused her to
be elevated into the position of queen. She shows us that remaining respectful
and humble, even in difficult if not humanly impossible circumstances, and
often sets us up to be the vessel of untold blessing for both ourselves and
others. We would do well to emulate her godly attitudes in all areas of life,
but especially in trials. Not once is there a complaint or bad attitude exposed
in the writing. Many times we read she won the “favour” of those
around her. Such favour is what ultimately saved her people. We can be granted
such favour as we accept even unfair persecution and follow Esther’s example of maintaining a positive
attitude, coupled with humility and the determination to lean on our Elohim.
Who knows but Elohim may have put us in such a position for just such a time as
this?
The following are just a few of the Key Verses:
“Now when the time came for Esther to go to the king, she asked for nothing other
than what Hegai, the king's eunuch who was in charge
of the harem, suggested.” Esther
2:15.
“For if you remain silent at this time,
relief and deliverance will arise from another place, but you and your father's
family will perish. And who knows but that you have come to the royal position
for such a time as this.” Esther
4:14.
“Since Mordecai, before whom your
downfall has begun, is of Judean origin, you cannot stand against him, you will
surely come to ruin!” Esther
6:12.
“If I have found favour with you, O
king, and if it pleases your majesty, grant me my life, this is my petition,
and the life of my people, this is my request.” Esther
7:3.
Part Four - Haman’s “Sum of Money”
to destroy Israel
Above we have read about the goodness and
faithfulness of Esther as well as
Mordecai, but also of the great evil of the land’s second in charge the
very rich and evil Haman, the butcher! His desire
was to utterly destroy every single Hebrew that was in the land, thus he was
foreshadow of Hitler in Scriptural days and had he succeeded, he would have
achieved, what Hitler could never had done. But of course the Almighty could not
allow this evil man to succeed and thus his plans were thrown into disarray and
instead he was hanged, instead of Mordecai!
The plan Haman had
to destroy the Children of Israel was as follows involving a “Sum of
Money.”
This “Sum of Money” has a significant
prophetic message, one that at first may not be comprehended. However, we
should look at the puzzle that is presented by this “sum,” which
unfolded to me in the early 1990s.
“Then Haman said to King Xerxes,
‘There is a certain people dispersed and scattered among the peoples in
all the provinces of your kingdom whose customs are different from those of all
other people and who do not obey the king's laws; it is not in the king's best
interest to tolerate them. If it pleases the king, let a decree be issued to
destroy them (to kill them),
and I will put ten thousand talents of silver into the royal treasury for the
men who carry out this business.’” Esther
3:8-9.
“And Mordecai told him all that had
happened to him and the sum of money that Haman had
promised to pay into the king's treasuries to destroy the Judeans.” Esther 4:7.
Notice it does not say “all that he
had” nor “half his possessions” etc., but “THE sum of
money” The question arises … “What was that sum”?
Please read the chart with the calculations
carefully. It is there because it was something, which shocked the author when
he discovered this. The contained prophecy WILL shock you for it was without a
doubt a “sum” carefully made up not just by a mere man, but with
outside help, which I believe came from the greatest of all evil, HaSatan
himself!
“Let a decree be issued to destroy
them (the Hebrews), and I will put TEN THOUSAND TALENTS of silver into the royal treasury”
Chapter 3:9.
What is a talent?
1 Talent = 30
kilograms
10,000 x 30 kilograms = 300,000 kilograms of silver (total)
1 Talent = 60
Mina’s
1 Mina = 50
Shekels
Meaning that 1 Talent was 60 x 50 = 3,000 shekels
Calculating 10,000 Talents to Shekels
10,000 x 3,000 = 30.000,000 / 30
Million Shekels
Bamidbar (Numbers)
3:47 - reveals that the redemption price of the firstborn of Israel is
… 5
Shekels per person. “You shall take five
shekels for each one individually.”
Divide 30.000,000 ÷ 5 = 6.000,000
/ 6 Million
Did the evil Haman
prophetically offer the exact amount, “THE SUM” in the day of Ester
the Queen that amounted to 6 Million precious lives of Israel lost
during HaShoah, the Nazi Holocaust!
Does this prove that we at times, do simply
not understand prophecy as we should?
Many will say that the author has gone off on
a tangent and is totally wrong. OK, prove to me that “ten thousand
talents” does not add up to 30 million shekels, and that the price
of the first born is not 5 shekels, and calculated accordingly and
correctly, that this sum becomes 6 million. Is it so or not? Frankly, I
wish it had not been so, but it is! Haman, evil
“Sum of Money” was a prophecy for the death of 6 million precious
Jewish lives lost and that was tragic! The only good thing to come out of that
horrid time is the re-establishment of the State of Israel and the return of so
many of the Hebrew people back to the land! Thank you YaHVaH Elohim!
Today in Israel, there are many Messianic
Synagogues as over the years countless of Hebrews have come to know Yahushua
(Yeshua) as their Messiah, and praise YaHVaH Elohim,
so it is around the world! Just as it was in the days when Yahushua was with us
in the world, many Hebrew were faithful and believed then and thereafter, for
obviously all the original believers in Messiah were all Hebrews (Jews)! Sadly
far too many preachers still teach that “The Jews rejected Christ.”
That statement is a lie, for the faithful Hebrews believed, and the sinners of
the nation, just as it is in your country today, did not accept Him, and
neither did the rich and corrupt priesthood that was installed not according
the official Scriptural order!
The story of Esther
is a story about the endurance and faith of the Hebrew (including Esther) people through persecution and celebration,
as well as Elohim’s providence in His people’s life by instating
people in power who will fight for the Children of Israel, and beloved that can
be you! “Pray for the peace of Jerusalem”
Tehillim – Psalm 122:6, and should include all the Hebrews regardless
where they live, for it is commanded in the New Testament! Beloved, true Shalom
- Peace is Yahushua our beloved Messiah, for only His peace in the heart of men
is worth while having, thus may His peace fill the hearts of men and women we
are praying for!
I pray that this study has touched you in
certain ways, for it does contain much, and I believe that we should read the
book of Esther in full more
frequently!
