The Passover & Easter Study
Introduction:
Dear reader, this is such an important study
and I am well aware that many believers in the Lord may well at first rebel to
degree by some of the things that they will be reading. However, I prayerfully ask
that you read on, but above all that you check the beloved Word of our Heavenly
Father and the Words that our beloved Lord and our Saviour clearly has shown us
as well by all His disciples, for the word “Easter” is not a word
that is to be found anywhere in Elohim’s (God’s) Word, now is it a
festival that has any connection with our faith in Messiah whatsoever
originally, for it comes from a totally different origin and it is one that
should shock you and all the faithful for it is pagan!
As we will know, Easter is a day that is
honoured by almost all of contemporary “Christianity” and it is an
occasion to celebrate the “resurrection of
The question should be, is Easter really all
about the Lord and Saviour’s death and resurrection? If so, where did all
those strange customs come from and what do they have to do with the
resurrection of Yahushua (Yeshua) the Messiah?
The purpose of this study is to help answer
those very questions, and to assist those who seek the truth of His Words and
to draw out own their conclusions, but 1. From the Word of YHVH Elohim (The
LORD God) and from understanding how man with the aid of the evil one has
interfered and meddled into the spiritual life of the very early church!
Where did the word “Easter” originate?
The word Easter appears only once in the King
“And when he (
Now let’s read that same verse again,
but this time from two other versions:
“So when he had arrested him, he put him
in prison, and delivered him to four squads of soldiers to keep him, intending
to bring him before the people after Passover
(Greek: Páscha).” NKJV.
“After arresting him, he put him in
prison, handing him over to be guarded by four squads of four soldiers each.
The Greek word translated Easter here is
obviously Páscha, which is translated everywhere else in the Word as
“Passover.”
Think about these facts for a minute.
“Easter” has become such a major religious holiday, yet why is it
that nowhere in the Scriptures, nor in the book of Acts, that covers several decades
of the history of the early faithful and fellowships, nor in any of the
epistles of the Brit Chadashah (New Testament) written over a span of 30 to 40
years after Messiah Yahushua’s death and resurrection do we find the
apostles or early faithful celebrating anything that remotely looked or seemed
like “Easter.”
The Encyclopaedia Americana
“Easter is a convergence of three
traditions, (1) Pagan. According to the Venerable Bede, English historian of
the early eighth century, the word is derived from the Norse Ostara or Eostare, meaning the
festival of spring, at the vernal equinox, when nature is in resurrection after
winter. Hence, the rabbits, notable for their fecundity, and the eggs coloured
like rays of the returning sun, and the northern lights, or aurora borealis.”
And according to the second century historian
Eusebius the history is the same. The name of Easter is pagan in origin also.
“The Greek “Páscha,” formed from the Hebrew, is the name of
the very first of the Seven Feasts of YHVH as listed in Vayikra –
Leviticus chapter 23, being an “appointed season” that was upheld
throughout all the fellowship and was known as the prophetic feast related to
His death, the Lamb with out spot, that had been kept for 4 days in Jerusalem,
died with no bones broken, and the Lord’s resurrection, all of which that
took place at the time of the Passover. Of course, if we have any knowledge at
all, we should realise that the word, “Easter” has no relevance to
the Scriptures, for it is wholly of Saxon origin. Easter did not become a
holiday of any kind until long after our Lord and Saviours death.
What are the real origins of Easter?
The first thing we must understand is that the
“Church” was not the first to celebrate a festival that was called
“Easter,” well it was actually better known then as
“Ishtar,” which today is pronounced
as “Easter.” We may ask, what was this ancient festival all
about? I am sure that you will be surprised, for I can tell you it was all
about the resurrection of a god as it commemorated the resurrection of the
pagan god “Tammuz” who was believed to be “the only begotten
son” of the moon-goddess, and the sun-god. Let me go back into some
history here as an explanation.
In ancient times, there was a man named
Nimrod, who as we should all know was the grandson of one of

We need to remember that all of
With Tammuz dead, the queen told her
worshippers that when he was killed by the wild pig that some of his blood had
fallen on the stump of an evergreen tree and the stump grew into a full new
tree overnight. This made the evergreen tree sacred by the blood of Tammuz. She
also proclaimed a forty day period of time of sorrow each year prior to the
anniversary of the death of Tammuz. This is now called “Lent” by
the Roman Catholics. This is how lent commenced according several ex priests,
who wrote the book, “The Two Babylon’s.”
“To conciliate the Pagans to nominal
Christianity, Rome, pursuing its usual policy, took measures to get the
Christian and Pagan festivals amalgamated, and, by a complicated but skilful
adjustment of the calendar, it was found no difficult matter, in general, to
get Paganism and Christianity, now far sunk in idolatry, in this as in so many
other things, to shake hands.”
During lent no meat was to be eaten.
Worshippers were to meditate upon the sacred mysteries of Baal and Tammuz, and
to make the sign of the “T” for Tammuz in front of their hearts as
they worshipped. They also ate sacred sweet cakes with the marking of a
“T” or the truth is actually looked more like a cross on the top.
Yes friends that is today’s hot cross buns, and
that is a fact!
Every year, on the first Sunday after the
first full moon after the spring equinox, a celebration was made. It was

By now, the readers of this study should have
made a clear connection how paganism has infiltrated the contemporary Church,
and further study will indicate that this kin of paganism came in by way of the
Roman Catholic system. The truth is that Easter has nothing whatsoever to do

are told, for let’s face it if your priest, patter, minister teaches you
this or that in the Name of the Lord how can you possibly question it? But, it
is time that we let the Almighty speak and we should listen to Yahushua and His
disciples!
Easter Sun-Rise Services
You think Easter sunrise services are
beautiful? LISTEN! YHVH Elohim was showing the prophet Ezekiel the sins of His
people in a vision, a prophecy for today!
“‘Turn you once again,’ said
Elohim, ‘and you shall see greater abominations than these”
(Ezekiel had just been shown, in a vision, idol-worship among professing people
of YHVH).
“And he brought me (in vision) into the
inner court of the Eternal’s house, and behold … between the porch
and the altar were about five and twenty men, with … their faces toward
the east: and they worshiped the sun towards the east. Then He said unto me, Have you seen this, O son of man? Is it a light thing that
they commit the ABOMINATIONS which they commit here? ... Therefore, will I deal
IN FURY: Mine eye shall not spare, neither will I have pity: and though they
cry in My ears with a loud voice, yet will I not hear
them!” Ezekiel 8:15-18.

These things are no joke, any more than
Judgement day is a joke. I pray to the Father, blessed be
He, that this study will cause you to search for more truth. We will be glad to

Beloved these are the last days, and it is
time to repent, come out and be separate and celebrate Passover!
The true early believers kept the Passover:
The Brit Chadashah (New Testament) reveals
that our beloved Lord and Saviour, the apostles, and all the early fellowship
of believers for the first 300 to 400 years, both Hebrew and of Gentile origin,
but now “neither Jew nor Greek,” observed Elohim’s Sabbaths,
and His appointed Feasts, both weekly and annually! Take the Word of YHVH
Elohim and carefully read - Acts 2:1; 12:3-4 (where the word
“Easter” is an erroneous translation in “King James
Version” as we have already learned, and it has been corrected in other
versions.
Eusebius, historian of the early centuries of
the “Church,” speaks of the true believers observing Passover on
the 14th of Nissan, being first month of the sacred (Hebrew) calendar.
In addition, the historian Gieseler wrote that
“the Gentile Christians observed also the Sabbath and the
Passover,” during the latter half of the first century.
But as a new false paganised Church grew in
size, but more importantly in political power, decrees were passed by 363 A.D.
imposing the death sentence upon true believers found keeping Elohim’s
Sabbath, or His Seven appointed Feasts. Finally, in order to keep the true Way
of the Almighty, a large portion of the true faithful they fled into the
countryside away from the cities where they would be hunted and killed. But
tragically a large portion of the TRUE faithful body of believers of Messiah
who did not flee who remained true to YHVH’s Truth, paid with their lives
in martyrdom. History records that countless of these faithful ones were martyred!
These blessed ones loved obedience to Elohim and their beloved Saviour Yahushua
so much more than their lives! May I ask the question - DO YOU?
But through all generations, through every
century, though persecuted, scattered, unrecognized by the world, many true
believers have kept alive the TRUE FELLOWSHIP (Body) IN ELOHIM - and
that is the Body in Him composed of those who HaSatan cannot deceive!
